When you need to heat a large surface without leaving those annoying burnt spots, you need a wide footprint. That’s exactly why we built this 800mm lamp. At 1200W, it hits that sweet spot—plenty of power to get the job done, but not so much that you’re burning through your bulbs every other week. The nitty-gritty on size and power The 800mm length is there for a reason: it spreads the heat out. We tuned it to 1200W so the filament gets hot enough to pump out shortwave IR without stressing the quartz glass. One quick heads-up: the physical size is non-negotiable. If your housing is off by even a couple of millimeters, it’s just not going to sit right in the sockets. Double-check your measurements before you slide it in. Why the “Halogen” part matters Ever notice how some bulbs get cloudy or blacken over time? We use a halogen cycle to stop that from happening. Basically, the halogen gas grabs the tungsten that evaporates and puts it right back onto the filament. It keeps the glass clear. It keeps the heat steady. You don’t have to worry about the output dropping off halfway through the lamp’s life. When you’re wiring these up with your industrial connectors, do yourself a favor:**keep the contacts clean.**If there’s oxidation on the terminals, you’ll get resistance. That leads to overheating, and before you know it, your socket is fried. Where this actually lives (and a warning) You’ll see these working hard in PET bottle blowing, plastic welding, or on drying lines. Since it’s a mid-range heater, it usually drops right into existing setups without any fuss. But here is the most important part:do not touch the glass with your bare hands. I’m serious. The oils from your skin stay on the quartz and create tiny hot spots. Once you fire it up, those spots can cause the glass to crack under the heat. It’s a pain, but always give the tubes a quick wipe with some isopropyl alcohol before you turn them on. Your equipment will thank you.
