
Let’s talk about the 800mm Halogen Heating Lamp
If you’re running heavy-duty industrial gear, you know that getting heat where it needs to be—fast—is half the battle. That’s why we build these 800mm halogen lamps. Basically, we take a tungsten filament, wrap it in high-purity quartz, and fill the whole thing with a special halogen gas. The gas stops the filament from evaporating, which lets us crank the temperature way higher than your average light bulb. The result? It heats up almost instantly and hits your target with a lot more punch. The Nitty-Gritty on Size and Power We went with the 800mm length because it fits those big heating zones perfectly. Now, depending on whether you’re plugging into a 220V line or a beefier 380V/400V system, the wattage per millimeter is going to shift. But here’s a pro tip: a longer tube is great for spreading heat, but it can sag. If your mounting brackets aren’t lined up just right, the tube can actually snap when it expands from the heat.**Double-check those brackets.**It’ll save you a massive headache later. Why Quartz? We use quartz glass for a simple reason: it lets shortwave IR radiation pass right through. Instead of wasting energy heating up the air around the machine, the heat goes straight into your workpiece. As for the plugs, we usually stick with R7s or Sk15 connectors. They’re easy to swap into most OEM machines and they grip tight. You don’t want your lamp vibrating loose while the machine is humming along at full speed. A Few Things to Watch Out For These are the go-to lamps for things like PET blowing, plastic welding, and curing lines. They’re powerful. Really powerful. But that power comes with a catch. If your PID controller isn’t tuned properly, you can burn these out fast. Plus, if you run them at 100% without enough airflow, the “heat soak” can actually warp or damage your machine’s chassis. Make sure your cooling fans can handle the climb in temperature. Trust me, your equipment will thank you.
