
A Quick Guide to Our 495mm White Halogen Lamps
If you need a massive hit of heat, fast, these are the lamps for you. We built these for shortwave infrared (SWIR) jobs where you can’t afford to wait around. At 2000W and 235V, you’re getting a serious amount of energy packed into a 495mm footprint. If you’ve already got an industrial heating array, these should slide right in. The deal with the voltage Here is something to keep in mind: that 235V rating matters. If you plug this into a standard 220V line, you’ll notice the wattage dips a bit. Go the other way to 240V, and you’re pushing the filament harder than it wants to go, which means it’ll burn out faster. We went with a high wattage density for a reason. We want these things to hit operating temperature in seconds. It keeps the heat out of your machine frame and puts it exactly where it belongs—right into your workpiece. Why “White” Quartz? You’ll notice these aren’t clear; they have a white ceramic coating. Standard clear quartz just lets all the IR wavelengths fly straight through. But this white coating reflects and diffuses the beam. It stops those annoying “hot spots” from scorching your material and gives you a much more even heat across the whole 495mm length. A few warnings before you install These will work with most standard IR oven controllers, but be careful. 2000W creates a lot of ambient heat right around the sockets. If your cooling fans aren’t up to the task, you’re likely to fry your connectors. Also, let’s be honest: these are built for speed, not for forever. High-wattage shortwave tubes take a beating. You’re trading a longer lifespan for the ability to flash-heat plastics or dry coatings in a tiny fraction of the time. It’s a trade-off, but for most, the speed is worth it. One last thing.**Keep the quartz clean.**Seriously. If you touch the glass with your bare hands, the oil from your skin can cause the tube to crack the moment it hits peak temperature. Use gloves.
