Getting the Most Out of the 1230mm 1500W Halogen Lamp
When you need heat—and you need it now—these 1230mm halogen lamps are the way to go. We built them for those high-intensity IR jobs where you can’t afford to wait around for things to warm up. At 1500W, we found a sweet spot. It’s enough power to get your surface up to temperature fast, but it spreads that heat out across a long footprint. This means you don’t have to worry about those annoying localized hot spots that can ruin a workpiece. Why the size matters The 1230mm length is a huge help. It lets you cover wide areas without having to mess around with a bunch of smaller tubes and complex wiring. We spent a lot of time on the wattage-per-millimeter ratio. It’s dialed in perfectly for curing or pre-heating. You get a smooth, consistent heat profile from one end to the other. Just a heads-up: don’t try to cram more wattage into this same size. You’ll likely burn out the filament or warp your material, and nobody wants that. The tech under the hood We use a halogen cycle to keep the tungsten filament clean. Basically, it stops the tungsten from gunking up the inside of the quartz glass. This keeps the light coming through clearly for a lot longer. Plus, the quartz glass is tough. It can handle the shock of being turned on and off rapidly without cracking. Installation is pretty painless. We use standard industrial connectors, so these usually slide right into most PET blowing or shrink-wrapping machines without any drama. But here is a big one:**don’t touch the glass.**Seriously. Even a few fingerprints or a bit of oil from your skin can create stress points. That’s the fastest way to kill a lamp. Keep it clean, and it’ll last. Putting it to work You’ll mostly see these in industrial drying or PET bottle blowing because the shortwave IR radiation sinks into the plastic almost instantly. To get the best results, make sure your reflectors are set up right to bounce that heat exactly where it needs to go. And remember, 1500W puts off a lot of ambient heat. Make sure your fans and vents are up to the task. If the air doesn’t move, your temperatures will drift, and you’ll be fighting your settings all day.
