The Power Struggle Most bikes run on a 12V DC system, but the voltage isn’t always steady. We build these lamps to handle those jumps and dips without blinking. But here’s the thing: if you go for a high-wattage bulb to get more light, you’re putting more pressure on your battery and stator.**Check your wiring first.**If your wires are too thin for the power you’re pulling, they’ll heat up. The Real-World Trade-off The best part about halogens? They’re easy. You just pop them in. No fancy drivers, no bulky heat sinks, just a warm, wide beam that feels natural on the road. But they do run hot. Really hot. If you’ve got a plastic housing without any vents, that heat can build up and warp your lens or kill the bulb early. Also, keep an eye on your seals. If water leaks in and leaves spots on the quartz glass, it creates “hotspots” that can actually crack the glass. Keep it dry, and you’re golden.
