Introduction
We built this quartz near-infrared lamp to be a straight-up, drop-in upgrade for standard halogen lamps. It’s made for industrial heating—the kind of work where you need output you can count on, temperature control that stays steady, and parts that can take a beating on the plant floor.
Power, Voltage, and Size—What It Means for You
At 600W and 660mm long, this lamp gives you a heating zone that’s long and even—perfect for matching existing machine footprints. That length helps spread heat uniformly, so you get fewer hot spots and less process drift. The 600W rating was chosen to deliver serious heat density without pushing the envelope too hard. Just be sure about voltage before you plug in. This lamp is meant to run on the exact line voltage your setup needs. If the voltage doesn’t match, performance gets shaky and the lifespan drops fast. So match the voltage, and you’re good.
What’s Inside—Quartz, Halogen Cycle, and the Mounting Details
The heart of it is a quartz envelope. It’s there because quartz handles rapid heating and cooling without warping, even at extreme temperatures. Inside, the halogen cycle keeps the filament clean by redepositing evaporated material. That means more consistent output over time and less blackening than you’d get from standard halogen lamps. For installation, it uses an R7s-style connector—double-ended, straightforward to mount, and designed for solid electrical contact in industrial fixtures. The end caps are built to handle thermal expansion and the wear-and-tear of repeated replacements. One thing to keep in mind: the quartz envelope and high wattage density need proper clearance and airflow. If you run it in an enclosed space, everything around it will run hotter.
Where It Shines—And Why It Helps
Use this lamp wherever you need fast-response heating—plastics processing, component drying, curing lines, that kind of work. The near-infrared output delivers heat right where it’s needed: on the surface. That means shorter warm-up times and tighter control over cycle times. As a halogen replacement, it fits straight in with better thermal stability. You get performance you can predict, easier maintenance, and fewer surprise shutdowns. Just double-check your fixture length, voltage, and mounting orientation before you wire it up.
